An Annual Event of the Hummingbird Festival

2023 Date Announced!

In 2023 the festival dog parade is back! And with a new name! The 2023 Mutt Strut Dog Parade will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023.

Bring the family, bring the kids. It's fun to be in the park during judging, and there are plently of places downtown to watch the parade go by. We hope to see you! It's fun.

You and your dog can be in the parade! Registration and Judging starts at 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM when the Parade begins. The parade proceeds up and down Main Street in historic downtown Hogansville. Everyone has a great time, especially the dogs. This event is very family- and kid-friendly, as long as everyone is used to being around dogs.

Prizes and Costumes

We will be awarding prizes for:
Best Costume
Best Kisser
Best Behaved
Most Resembling Owner

Costumes are encouraged, but totally optional. Lots of people do it, which adds to the fun, but lots of people can't or don't want to, and we want all those people to come too! The dogs have fun either way.

Get Your Picture Taken

We will have a professional photographer on hand to take photos of you and your dogs!

Rules and Stuff

Registration and judging starts at 10:00 AM. If you are already pre-registered and not trying to impress the judges, you can decide how close to the 11:00 AM parade start you want to arrive. We recommend you plan your arrival time based on how much stimulation and play time you and your dog can take. For example, if you get there at 10:05, and you and your dog(s) will have 55 minutes of fun before the parade starts at 11:00.

Please help make this a fun and safe event by following a few rules:

The dog must be on a leash.
The dog must be vaccinated.
The dog must be comfortable in crowds.
Everyone is responsible for picking up their dog's poop.

Donations of supplies or water are most welcome, as are sponsorships and partnerships with local pet-related groups or businesses. Thank you to all of the participants, volunteers, and sponsors.

Where To Go

The registration and parade starting point will be at Calvin Hipp Veterans Memorial Park (see map below). $5 registration fee (one $5 fee covers owner and all dogs). On-site registration starts at 10:00 AM.
